This highlights Campbeltown’s remoteness. There is also a flight that can be taken to Glasgow from Machrihanish airport which is about 5 minutes’ drive from Campbeltown. The flight runs twice daily. There is no train service to this area.
Campbeltown has a population of around 5,500 which are served by a number of facilities. There are 2 primary schools in Campbeltown and 5 rural primary schools. In addition, there is one secondary school as well as a small hospital. Tesco and Co-op operate supermarkets within the town.
