Gypsy/Travellers information
In Argyll and Bute gypsy/travellers live on two Travelling Persons’ sites and also in mainstream housing. Argyll Community Housing Association manages the two Travelling Persons’ sites.
The sites are located at:
- Ledaig (near Oban) – 8 pitches
- Dunchologan (near Lochgilphead) – 14 pitches
In order to apply for a pitch you must complete a Home Argyll common housing register application form.
For advice information and support for Gypsy Travellers you can access the Mecopp website. Mecopp is an organisation which supports carers in the gypsy/traveller community in rural Scotland.
Further information for gypsy travellers can be found on the Shelter Scotland website.
